Happy St. Patty's Day! So my last post "Baby A/S/L" was supposed to be the substitute for this month's letter but I keep looking at it, and it just won't do. Once again, I write a "nearly-the-next-month-already-letter" because you continue to keep us busy - and we LOVE it!
Your Daddy and I keep asking things like, how long have you been laughing or how long have you been crawling, because all your developmental milestones are coming to us like waves crashing one after another - we can't keep up! It seemed just a split second ago, you were on the verge of babbling, of laughing, of crawling, of pulling your self up to a stand in your crib, of speeding up and down the hallway in your walker, maneuvering like an expert racer. You can now eat a cookie by yourself, and you love to brush your teeth. And now you are doing all those things as if you've been doing it forever.
Some things we noticed just this week. You reach for us with your arms now when you want to be picked up or just to get a hug. You'll say, "hey!" if we're not paying attention to you and you will look at us for a reaction, then smile when you get it. You are now taking clear steps when we hold you by the hands to walk. You are feeling confident enough standing in your crib to occasionally let go of one of your hands on the crib bar to bang on the bar. You are starting to imitate things like banging on Daddy's Rockband drum set or watching me slap my legs. Its a game to you and you just laugh when you realize we're imitating each other.
Some other social "firsts" this month - you went to your first playground at the mall. You loved it. You were standing by the giant guitar, just banging away while watching the kids around you run around. I'm betting that if you could walk, you would be running around with them. You also attended your first kid's party. You had a blast there too! Despite the loud music, you looked quite content watching everybody with such a friendly open expression on your face. I bet if you could talk you would be making friends with all the kids. You even "danced" with a 1 year old girl, Ava, who you nearly matched in height! You tried to hold her hand but we were'nt sure how strong you'd grip her hands (because you have quite a grip!) so we had to curtail that connection, hehe...
I can't believe you're nearly 8 months old! What surprises will that month hold?
We can't wait!
Love you always and forever,
Mama
