Stuff

I've been reading a bunch of stuff lately. My bedside table/rug is dwindling down a bit. Just finished reading Coraline by Neil Gaiman. Before that I finished Running with Scissors. Both very easy to get through. I'm not really sure what qualities those books have that make it an "easy" read for me. Such as most Banana Yoshimoto (I still head to the Y aisle in bookstores in hopes that, finally, they translated another novel but am always disappointed that "they" have not) or Haruki Murakami or Kurt Vonnegut. Yet books by other novelists, whose books I know are sure to be good, its just a bit tougher to get through. Right now, that book is Sabina Murray's A Carnivore's Inquiry. And lately, just about ever remotely Pinoy work. I can't seem to get through all the poetry books I bought at that conference when I made a personal pledge to read more FilAm literature so that I could do my part and do more reviews.. But how can I possibly write even one review when I can't even complete one freaking book?Anyways, such is a dilemna of the privileged, no? Heh.
