Bedside reading

Currently on my bedside table (aka the floor) are: Bino Realuyo's The Gods We Worship Live Next Door, Carissa Villacorta's Surreality, Haruki Murakami's Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman.

Some stories I've written in the past that I would like to re-work for a future collection are: Tsismis, Balik ng Balikbayan, Salt and Blood Pudding, Gift of Tongues, and too many other stop and start pieces I have collecting in my rusty file cabinet.

Some books I would like to have by my bedside in the future are: Running with Scissors and any translated Banana Yoshimoto book other than the ones I've already read including Kitchen, NP, Amrita, and Lizard.

Some books that have recently been on my bedside: Marvel's 1602, Arnold Arre's After Eden.

A book that is still at my bedside table even though I've already finished it is: The Easy Way to Stop Smoking.

This is my sorry attempt to increase my writing. I need to write for myself. Not here. Not for you. Not for them. I need to write to write. That was not a typo. I need to write for the sole purpose of writing.

I should have quit while I was behind.
